The DPJ would like to thank people from across Japan who responded to a request for donations following the recent natural disasters in Myanmar and China.

Donations were collected between May 16 to June 15 2008 at prefectural DPJ chapters and branch headquarters and also at party headquarters. As of June 20, we have managed to raise a total of 4,515,502 yen. The money, which will be handed over to governmental organizations and NGOs working on the ground, will be split equally between disaster relief work in China and Myanmar.
