ニュース 2009/02/02 DPJ Diet members discuss nursing care insurance system with German delegation On February 2, Vice Director General of the DPJ International Department Marutei Tsurunen welcomed a delegation from the German Federal Diet headed by Marion Caspers-Merk, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Health, and exchanged views about the current situation in and problems facing the Japanese and German nursing care insurance systems. The meeting was also attended by Takanori Kawai and Atsuko Shimoda, DPJ Diet members who sit on the Committee of Health, Welfare and Labour in the House of Councillors. Both sides agreed that ensuring the nursing care insurance system was fully operational was an extremely high priority issue in our aging societies, and that the two countries had many things to learn from each other in this regard.
