DPJ’s “Emergency Economic Measures for Livelihoods, the Environment and the Future” announced

On April 8, DPJ Policy Research Committee Chair Masayuki Naoshima announced the DPJ’s proposal for bringing about economic recovery in Japan. The proposal involves spending approximately 21 trillion yen over 2 years, with the aim of increasing disposable income, radically expanding the safety net, shifting to an economy led by domestic demand, and eliminating ineffective old-style public works projects and restructuring the budget to realise policies that focus on people’s lives, the environment and the future.
Please see the attached file for a translation of the proposal.
