Child allowance legislation receives committee approval

On March 12, the Committee on Health, Welfare and Labour in the House of Representatives approved legislation concerning the payment of a child allowance in fiscal 2010. Following revisions, the legislation was approved by the DPJ, the SDP, the Communist Party and New Komeito.
