DPJ to hold town meetings and distribute policy questionnaires nationwide
|
On April 9, the DPJ announced that it will hold town meetings in the main branch offices of electoral districts across the country. The meetings will be held starting from April, targeting voters nationwide, with a view to ensuring that the voices of the electorate are reflected in the new party Manifesto.
The party also intends to distribute policy questionnaires at these meetings and via other means, and call for a wide range of opinions from the electorate regarding dissatisfaction and anxiety they have about their current lifestyles, so that voters will be able to say, “I’d like the DPJ to do this” or “How about trying this new way of doing things”. This will be the first time for the party to use such a method in order to research the opinions of the electorate via such questionnaires and use the information obtained in drafting the Manifesto and realizing policies.
The party has created a separate page on the DPJ website so that the public can answer the policy questionnaire via the Internet, enabling the voices of as wide a spectrum of the population as possible to be obtained. The URL for this page (Japanese only) is:
