Yamaoka meets with Chinese youth delegation


On May 21, Japan-China Exchange and Cooperation Mechanism Secretary General, DPJ Diet Affairs Committee Chair Kenji Yamaoka, received a courtesy call from a Communist Youth League of China delegation led by Chinese Communist Party International Department Deputy Director General Sun Jing-Guo. Yamaoka welcomed the delegation, saying that the visit by the Mechanism delegation to China at the end of last year had ended in success and expressed his thanks to the Chinese side for their assistance in hosting the visit.

At the start of the meeting, Sun delivered a message from the Minister of the International Department, Wang Jiarui, said that the bilateral relationship between Japan and China now had the chance to enter a new phase, and pointed out the importance of further strengthening the relationship. The members of the Chinese delegation consisted of senior members of the Communist Youth League of China from various regions of the country. They listened to an explanation from Yamaoka of the DPJ’s activities in the build-up to the House of Councillors election, and confirmed the importance of mutual understanding between the two nations.
