General Meeting of DPJ Diet Members approves new party executive

On September 21, a General Meeting of DPJ Diet Members was held at the Parliamentary Museum (Kenseikinenkan). At the start of the meeting Kansei Nakano was elected as the Chair of the General Meeting.
Following this, President Naoto Kan submitted his proposal for the new party executive, and this was approved by the assembled members. Secretary General Katsuya Okada then explained that the selection of new Standing Officers for each regional bloc would take place in accordance with the party regulations.
