Nishimura meets with Democratic Movement President Bayrou


On October 15, DPJ International Department Director-General Chinami Nishimura met with a delegation of French politicians from the European parliament led by the President of French political party the Democratic Movement (Modem) Francois Bayrou at party headquarters and discussed various topics. The meeting was also attended by DPJ members of the House of Representatives Rintaro Ogata and Makoto Yamazaki.

The French side showed an active interest in the political situation in Japan, asking questions about budget committee deliberations, the engagement of the DPJ administration toward realizing the policies of “Putting People’s Lives First”, and the prospects for Diet affairs.

Nishimura said that the DPJ wishes to engage in continued discussions, and to further strengthen the relations between Japan and France and between Japan and the European Union, and the meeting ended in a convivial atmosphere.
