Noda expresses intention to “enter discussions with the countries concerned toward our participation in the TPP negotiations”

On November 11, Prime Minister Noda held a press conference at the Prime Minister’s Office in which he referred to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), saying, “At the APEC leadership summit I announced that Japan should enter discussions with the countries concerned toward our participation in the TPP negotiations.”
Noda also referred at the start of the press conference to the fact that eight months had passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake had occurred, and expressed his strong resolve to continue to engage in disaster recovery and reconstruction, saying: “On this occasion, I would like first of all to reiterate my determination to prioritise disaster recovery and reconstruction, as well as dealing with the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident.”
