Kaieda receives courtesy call from Iraqi Ambassador Hashimy

On August 12, DPJ President Banri Kaieda received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Alaa Abdul Majid Al-Hashimy, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Japan, at the Party Headquarters. Ambassador Hashimy explained the efforts to fight against terrorism and the political situation in Iraq to Kaieda, saying, “We wish to ask the DPJ and Japanese citizens for their understanding and support for Iraq.”

Kaieda commented on this, emphasizing, “We are deeply concerned about terrorists threatening the stability in Iraq. It is important that the political blocs promoting democracy in Iraq come together as soon as possible, and fight against terrorism as one.” He continued, “I am sure that the Iraqi people can overcome this difficult crisis and the DPJ would like to support the Iraqi people in their struggle.”
