Yukihisa FUJITA, new Director - General of DPJ International Department

On October 14, a meeting of the DPJ Standing Officers Council was held at party Headquarters.
DPJ Secretary General Yukio Edano announced additional appointments to the party executive, including the appointment of member of the House of Councillors Yukihisa Fujita as the Director-General of International Department.
Later the same day, Fujita spoke of his aspirations to promote party-to-party diplomacy and parliamentary diplomacy, in coordination with embassies and related institutions in Japan and abroad. （Fujita’s CV is attached below）
Fujita appointed the following DPJ Diet members as Vice Director-Generals of the International Department (members from each House of the Diet are listed separately in alphabetical order):
●Members of the House of Representatives:
Junya OGAWA, Soichiro OKUNO, and Yuichiro TAMAKI
●Members of the House of Councillors:
Michihiro ISHIBASHI, Hiroe MAKIYAMA, and Misako YASUI
