On July 30, DPJ Youth Department Director General, member of the House of Councillors Kenzo Fujisue, received a courtesy call from senior Chinese Communist Youth League official Ni Jianmin during his recent visit to Japan.
The two sides agreed on the importance of strengthening youth exchanges between Japan and China, and involving universities and research institutions in this process, in the event that a change of government takes place at the forthcoming general election. Ni commented, “[Chinese] President Hu often says that if young people are powerful and active, whether it be as political parties, or nations, we can enjoy a bright future. I would like to cooperate with young DPJ politicians in the future.”
In response, Fujisue commented, “I think that many young Diet members will be elected [in the general election.] Let the young politicians on both sides engage in exchanges and deepen our mutual understanding.”
