On June 3, DPJ members of the House of Representatives Koriki Jojima and Eiichiro Washio, and member of the House of Representatives Harunobu Yonenaga (Vice Director-General of the International Department) received a courtesy call from member of the German Bundestag Johannes Pflug at party headquarters.

Yonenaga welcomed Pflug, referring to the time he spent living in Germany and his recent visit to the country during the Golden Week vacation.

Pflug introduced the activities of the German-Korean Parliamentarians League, of which he serves as Deputy Chair, and explained the activities that the League had engaged in up until now regarding the situation in North Korean and in East Asia.

In response, Jojima, who also serves as Chairman of the Special Committee on North Korean Abductions and Other Issues, expressed his willingness to continue exchanges with the German side toward the peaceful resolution of the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and also to deepen exchanges between Japanese and German parliamentarians.
