On September 12, the new line-up of Diet members responsible for international affairs was officially announced. Naoki Tanaka was appointed Chair of the Administration Committee, and will oversee administration, research and international affairs. Koichiro Watanabe is the new Deputy Chair of the Administration Committee, serving as Director-General of the International Department. The new Vice Chairs of the Administration Committee/Vice Director-Generals of the International Department are members of the House of Representatives Gaku Kato and Shino Aihara, and members of the House of Councillors Shinkun Haku and Marutei Tsurunen.
