On April 6, the government appointed new Vice-Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries in a Cabinet meeting.
Three DPJ members of the House of Representatives were appointed: Atsushi Oshima as the Senior Vice-Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, Chinami Nishimura as the Senior Vice-Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, and Miho Takai as the Senior-Vice Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Member of the House of Councillors, Ken Kagaya was appointed as Parliamentary Secretary of Internal Affairs and Communications.
The newly appointed members attended an inaugural ceremony at the Palace, received their letters of assignment and had a commemorative photograph session with Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda at the Prime Minister’s residence.
