On April 5, Director-General of the DPJ International Department Issei Tajima received a courtesy call from two members of the U. S. House Committee on Homeland Security, Congressmen Mike Rogers (Chairman of the Subcommittee on Transportation Security) and Billy Long. The two sides exchanged opinions on transport security, focusing on railway security in both countries. The meeting was also attended by the former Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transportation and Tourism (MLIT) Sumio Mabuchi and former MLIT Parliamentary Secretary Yuji Fujimoto.

Both sides engaged in a lively discussion on various technical issues, and the meeting ended in a convivial mood.
