On April 12, a plenary session of the House of Representatives unanimously adopted a resolution denouncing North Korea’s declared launch of the missile, which it calls a "satellite", and demanding an end to such action.
Tadamasa Kodaira, Chair of the Committee on Rules and Administration, proposed the resolution and said, “If North Korea goes ahead with the launch, it would clearly violate the U.N. Security Council resolutions banning all activities linked to ballistic missile plans. It would be a reckless action, defying the calls made repeatedly by the international community.” He criticized North Korea for taking an “absolutely inacceptable action that damages the peace and stability of the Northeast Asian region”.
