On July 17, the new line-up for the DPJ International Department was approved by the DPJ Standing Officers Council, details as follows:

- Hideo Hiraoka, Chair of the Administration Committee, with overall responsibility for the Administration, International and Research Departments, Member of the House of Representatives
- Issei Tajima, Director-General of the International Department, Member of the House of Representatives (hereinafter referred to as the HR)

The Vice Directors-General of the International Department are as follows:
Responsible for East Asia (China, Korean Peninsula) and Russia
- Naoto Sakaguchi, Member of the HR
- Shinkun Haku, Member of the House of Councillors

Responsible for South Asia (excluding North-East Asia) and Oceania
- Seiichiro Dokyu, Member of the HR
- Motohiro Oono, Member of the House of Councillors

Responsible for North, Central and South America
- Misako Yasui, Member of the House of Councillors

Responsible for Europe, Middle-East, Africa
