On December 28, the Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) announced the establishment of a DPJ Revitalization Headquarters. The executive line-up for the headquarters is as follows:

Chair: Banri Kaieda (President)
Acting Chair: Akihiro Ohata (Acting President)
Deputy Chair: Goshi Hosono (Secretary General)
Vice Chairs: Masaharu Nakagawa (Acting Secretary General), Mitsuru Sakurai (Chair, Policy Research Committee), Yasuo Ichikawa (Secretary General, DPJ Caucus, House of Councillors)
Secretary General: Sumio Mabuchi (Deputy Secretary General)
